Last weekend was London Film and Comic Con, or as David renamed it, London Film and Sweaty Con. As is usual for Showmasters these days, the queuing system was a shambles, there wasn’t enough space between stalls to look at anything when the hall was full, and there were too many people packed into too small a space. Whoever decided to make the main access for the top two floors would be in lifts needs their head checked…
Apart from that chaos, and the intense heat, it was a great weekend. I got to catch up with some of my favourite cosplayers, work with my partner in crime and overall had a great time. I took out Lara Croft for the first time, which was scary as hell, but was received really, really well. I caught up with the wonderful Gonzography, and we had a little impromptu shoot!
It was a nerve-wracking costume for me, and entirely out of my comfort zone. I had a few mishaps on it, with the holsters sliding down my legs all day and my borrowed guns being just about the biggest mismatch possible. The positive response I got was overwhelming after all my worries. Much love to everybody who stopped me for photos and the four (four!) different photographers I got to work with.
Working with Gonzography is always a convention highlight for me, and the work he does is incredible. I have more shots that he got of David and I together to share with you later too. These Lara shots…I was so nervous in this cosplay and these photos do not show it in the slightest. He is one talented ‘tog.
