Welcome to Caramel Latte Kiss – Coffee, Cosplay and Cocktails in the second city
I’m Georgina, and I’ve been writing Caramel Latte Kiss since 2010. By day, I’m a copywriter, but by night I’m a blogger, podcaster, and a cosplayer. Caramel Latte Kiss began as a personal style blog, but has grown into covering food, coffee, cosplay and my adventures in the second city. Recently, I’m also covering wedding planning, in my own unique, bad bride style.
I host my own podcast, Mutant Frenemy, based on the work of Joss Whedon. I cover everything from Buffy’s bad haircuts to Whedon’s impact on the English language, and have interviewed Whedon superfans, cosplayers and members of the cast of Whedon’s shows.
I live in Birmingham, in a…let’s say ‘petite’…flat, which is overflowing with gin, shoes and X-Men action figures, and can usually be found at my laptop with a coffee at my elbow. I love pin-up style, caffeine, thai food, comic books and cats. I don’t like horror films, bad manners or soap operas.
Since starting Caramel Latte Kiss, I’ve worked with brands including Travelodge, Joules, Francesco Group and Marriott Hotels. In 2013, my blog was shortlisted for the Bath In Fashion South-West Blogger award. In 2018, I appeared as a blogger on BBC Radio 5 Live, as part of a 5 Live Investigates programme on sexual harassment in the hospitality industry. In the same year, I was a finalist for Best Food Blog at the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards. I’ve also written for MAKUP, AWOT UK (now defunct), Wye Valley Life magazine and The Custard Factory.
As a cosplayer, I have been featured in local and national press, from the Birmingham Post to Take A Break, and have appeared as a guest, panellist and cosplay competition judge at several conventions. I have appeared at promotional events for several brands, including Brum Radio and Game.
