Coming Soon: Nocturnal Animals

I don’t think a bar opening has ever been more anticipated than the opening of Nocturnal Animals, and with very good reason.

Nocturnal Animals

The bar is from the chaps behind The Wilderness, and will be opening it’s doors on Bennetts Hill in early November. The venue is inspired by 80s pop culture, and with The Wilderness team involved, you know it’s going to be irreverent, top quality and slightly mad.

Nocturnal-Animals - Main Bar

The bar seats 60, and has a cocktail menu created by the fabulous James Bowker (having had a sneaky chat with the man himself about this, I hear rumour of cocktail vending machines and a well priced regular menu) inspired by unusual colours and flavours. Expect something a little different, well-crafted and utterly delicious.

Nocturnal Animals - Restaurant

Downstairs, you’ll find a 42 cover restaurant, serving up a taster menu for lunch and dinner, inspired by Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Using the kitchen’s Konro charcoal grills, the food offering is sure to be ambitious, but I hear the price point is planned to be a touch more accessible than The Wilderness.

Nocturnal Animals - Lounge Area

If a taster menu doesn’t take your fancy, there’s also bar food available across both floors, and a special afternoon tea menu that has been crafted by Masterchef: The Professionals finalist Brett Connor.

With this team, I have high hopes that Nocturnal Animals is going to be something truly exceptional, and unlike anything Birmingham has ever seen.

Nocturnal Animals will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm to 11pm, with reservations going live on 1st October for November and December.
