Wednesday Wishlist – Joules

I love Joules. Their shops are always so…cheerful. Bright colours, pretty patterns, and generally cheery. Yes please. You might remember a while back I was lucky enough to be a Joules VIB and went along to check out the beautiful new flagship store in Bath. They must know I love them dearly, because they asked me to have a good old nosey round the website and share some of my favourite items with you guys. So here we go!

Joules really are masters of the tunic, and make pretty, easy to wear tunics that I am very tempted by. I think this one would be perfect for lazy weekend dressing with some leggings. No effort, but you look put together. Like I said, Joules are good at pattern. Florals, animals, classic tartan…they cover it all, and do it well, like this horse print shirt and these perfect for Autumn skirt.

They’re a great place to find good quality coats and jackets too. Joules get the balance just right between practical jackets that are actually warm and hard-wearing, while still being stylish. Not an easy thing to do.

I’m a big fan of Joules’ homeware, and as usual, I’m loving the stuff for the kitchen. Gorgeousness. I need those cake tins.

A New Home

I’m moving into my new flat with Tom in just over a week and I am beyond excited. I’m already plotting where to put all my things, and of course gazing lovingly at things I would love to treat myself to. Unfortunately, with shelling out on moving, it’ll be a while before any of these beauties can come and live with me.

I already have one of those Ikea squares bookcases, but we really want a second, so we can have one each, on either side of the fireplace. This is what happens with two bookworms in a house.
I also want some pretty arty bits, like that gorgeous tea and books print, and of course we need some Star Wars prints on our walls. The wooden letters are mostly because I think it’s hilarious that with our initials we’re a G&T.
I’m a hoarder of cushions, but I can always find room for a fluffy one. This rug is pretty cool too, and would look awesome in my new living room.
Most of all though? That red polka dot bedding. If I was a duvet cover, I would be this one. Red and polka dots are my thing. The SECOND I have the money spare, these are being bought and going on my bed. I won’t be satisfied until they are.

House Beautiful

My old flatmate is coming to stay tomorrow night, so I am very excited right now. I miss living with that girl. We lived together for six months, and spent a lot of time before we lived together creating elaborate Pinterest boards filled with polka dot kettles, chalkboards and retro telephones, plotting how our flat would look.

In honour of those boards, I’ve been creating something of a wishlist with a little help from Oldrids and Downtown.

patchwork cushionfelt discs cushions

I have a bit of a thing with cushions. My sofa and my bed already house a few, but I’m always on the look out for more. I love this pink patchwork cushion. It’s such a pretty print, although it actually kind of reminds me of the sheets my mum uses back home. This cushion with felt discs would go perfectly with my colour scheme, so that’s definitely on the list.

shopaholic cocktail glassbronze cat

Ok, not strictly home decor, but come on. A shopaholic cocktail glass is pretty much perfect for a lifestyle blogger, no? As well as being a shopaholic, I’m a massive crazy cat lady. I actually used to work somewhere that stocked these cats, so I can vouch for how beautiful they are in person. They’re clay and then coated in bronze. They’re so detailed and pretty. If I can’t have a real kitty…

These days, I’m getting more into my baking and cooking, and clearly need a domestic goddess kitchen to go with. If I could start with this tea caddy, these oil bottles, this chopping board and these dipping bowls, I’d be pretty content.

Oldrids and Downtown have got an enormous range, and are actually pretty budget friendly. Hooray! Much better than those Pinterest boards…
