It’s Super Bowl season! Super Bowl LII is on Sunday 4th February, with Justin Timberlake performing at halftime. More and more Brits are watching the Super Bowl (and the usually epic halftime show) every year, which means more venues are starting to screen it, complete with suitably American food and drink offers. But where should you be watching it if you’re in Birmingham? I’ve dug out lots of options to watch the game, whether you want to spend your night surrounded by cheerleaders, or in more sedate surroundings, and tracked down the best offers for the night.
Making a name for itself as a great venue to watch sport, The Lord Clifden in the Jewellery Quarter will be screening the Super Bowl. With a late licence and a late kitchen, you can keep fed and watered no matter how late the game goes. They’re promising a range of special Super Bowl snacks too. Yum!
We picked this option last year, and it was great. Coast to Coast is a more laid back option of you want to relax with a beer to watch the game, instead of being surrounded by lots of noisy beer chugging. You can book a table for the Super Bowl Sunday now. The bar will be open all night for the game, and they’ve got some great gameday offers, including £10 for hot dog, dirty fries and a Budweiser, or 5 Budweisers for £15.
If you’re looking for a more…lively…evening, you can catch the game with Texan Roadhouse and their cowgirl waitresses. Buy a Bud or a Bud Light during the game, and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to an NFL game in London next season.
Birmingham Lions (UoB’s own American Football team) are taking over Players Bar to host an epic Super Bowl shindig. There’ll be food available all night, HD projector screens, games with cash prizes and performances from the award winning Birmingham Pussycats Cheerleaders. Drinks offers includes £2 VKs, £2 Vodka mixers (double up for an extra £1), and £2.50 bottles including Sol, Heineken and Desperados. Standard entry is £5, or you can book a VIP package including food, drink, hostess service and premier seating .
They might be Aussie, but Walkabout will be showing Super Bowl 2018. Book a booth by calling 07500115776 or e-mailing bookings.wbbirmingham@ston
Hit The Church in the Jewellery Quarter for a big screen in the back room, late night kitchen serving up Superbowl snacks, and a late late bar with lots of cocktail specials.
Open until 5am, you can really bring the Super Bowl party at Rileys. There’ll be a late bar, and tickets are £5 including a drink. Grab your tickets here.
Where are you going to be watching this year? Please send good vibes; my fiancé and I are Eagles and Patriots supporters respectively, so it’s going to be a tense time in our household. Perhaps I’d better hold off on the wedding planning…
